Session ! 755 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May 10,1999 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of <br />City Hall on Monday, May 10, 1999, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order <br />at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt (arrived at 7:35 p.m.) <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the study session minutes from April 24, 1999. Mr. <br />Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the regular meeting minutes from April 26, 1999. Mr. <br />Lieberman seconoed the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSION LIAISON REPORTS: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner, Liaison for the Planning Commission, reported that three items were reviewed <br />on North & South at the last Plan Commission meeting, two of which will be dealt with <br />tonight: A conditi¢:nal use permit at 500-546 North & South and the zoning map change <br />which was not approved by the Plan Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel, Liaison for the Library Board, reported that they had not met since his last <br />report. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman, Liaison for the Park Commission, reported that they had a public hearing <br />concerning the addition of basketball goals at Fogerty Park. There were speakers that came <br />to oppose this, as ~vell as a very strongly worded letter from the school district opposing the <br />proposal. The Par~ Commission voted unanimously to withdraw the proposal. The <br />Midwest Tennis C~arities has reserved the Heman Park Tennis Courts over the Memorial <br />Day weekend. The Metro Area Sporting Events Association asked to use the Heman Park <br />Basketball Courts throughout the entire summer on Sundays for a basketball tournament. <br /> <br /> <br />
