Session ! 755 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL May 10,1999 At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Monday, May 10, 1999, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Ms. Cassandra Colquitt (arrived at 7:35 p.m.) Mr. Wayne I. Munkel Mr. Robert Wagner Mr. Larry Lieberman Mr. Paul Schoomer Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. MINUTES: Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the study session minutes from April 24, 1999. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the regular meeting minutes from April 26, 1999. Mr. Lieberman seconoed the motion, which carried unanimously. BOARDS AND COMMISSION LIAISON REPORTS: Mr. Wagner, Liaison for the Planning Commission, reported that three items were reviewed on North & South at the last Plan Commission meeting, two of which will be dealt with tonight: A conditi¢:nal use permit at 500-546 North & South and the zoning map change which was not approved by the Plan Commission. Mr. Munkel, Liaison for the Library Board, reported that they had not met since his last report. Mr. Lieberman, Liaison for the Park Commission, reported that they had a public hearing concerning the addition of basketball goals at Fogerty Park. There were speakers that came to oppose this, as ~vell as a very strongly worded letter from the school district opposing the proposal. The Par~ Commission voted unanimously to withdraw the proposal. The Midwest Tennis C~arities has reserved the Heman Park Tennis Courts over the Memorial Day weekend. The Metro Area Sporting Events Association asked to use the Heman Park Basketball Courts throughout the entire summer on Sundays for a basketball tournament.
