SESSION 1705 <br /> <br />MINITFES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />SEPTEF4BER 8, ! 997 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of <br />City Hall on Monday, September 8, 1997, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. in addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne !. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />LETTER OF RESIGNATION: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams reported that he was in receipt of a letter of resignation from <br />Councilmember Betty Thompson, dated September 5, 1997 which was effective at 4:00 <br />p.m. on September 8, 1997. She will be accepting a position to become the new 72nd <br />District State Representative. Her seat in the Third Ward is now vacant. <br /> <br />Interested residents of the Third Ward will have until September 15, 1997 to deliver their <br />applications to the City Clerk. The Council will review the applications and make a <br />selection. The appointee will, hopefully, be sworn in on October 13, 1997. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of August 18, 1997. Mr. Ware seconded the <br />motion, which carded unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Ware moved approval of the minutes of the special meeting of August 20, 1997. <br />Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT/REAPPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved the appointment of Mr. Ben Sentuda, 7031 Waterman, to the Park <br />Commission, filling an unexpired term ending January 21, 1998. Mr. Schoomer seconded <br />the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
