Session 1705, Minutes <br />September 8, 1997 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved the reappointment of Mr. R. Gordon Myers to both Pension Boards <br />for a term ending July 1,2001. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (5 ITEMS) <br /> <br /># 1 - Elected Officials Travel Guidelines: The City Manager reported that the City <br />Council has formulated rules regarding travel to conferences which benefit University City. <br />Under these rules, elected officials will be reimbursed in a responsible, legal and ethical <br />manner. <br /> <br />#2 - Public Hearing - Vacating Street Right-of-Way: Mr. Ollendorff recommends setting <br />7:30 p.m., September 22, 1997 as the time and place for a public hearing on the <br />proposed vacating of excess right-of-way not needed for street purposes on the north side <br />of Loop North, west of Leland. This is a 12 ft. wide strip of !and which would be <br />maintained as a lawn area by the adjacent owner. <br /> <br />#3 - 1998 Council Heeting Schedule: Mr. O!!endorff recommends the following schedule <br />for Council meetings and budget studies: <br /> <br />January 5 6:25 February 9 6:23 March 16 6:30 <br />April 13 May 4 6: ] 8 June 8 6:29 <br />July 13 6:27 August 17 6:31 September 28 <br />October 12 November 2 6:23 December 7 6:21 <br />City Council Budget Study Sessions: Monday, May ! 1 and Wednesday, May 13 <br /> <br />#4 - Demolition Bids: Bids were received August 25, ! 997 for demolition of two <br />deteriorated buildings: 6319 Clemens and 8227 Montreal. The responses are as follows: <br /> <br />Aalco Wrecking Co., Inc. <br />Coryera Abatement Tech., Inc. <br />Spritas Wrecking Co. <br /> <br />6319 Clemens 822 7 Montreal Total <br />$10,740 $4,780 $15,520 <br />$16,170 $7,590 $23,760 <br />$17,870 $8,964 $26,834 <br /> <br />Mr. Oliendorff recommends contracting with Aalco Wrecking for their low bid of <br />$ ! 5,520. The cost will be charged against the property on a Special Tax Bill since the <br />owners failed to do this demolition on a timely basis. <br /> <br /> <br />
