With all the cars for the pool, for the rec
center, the ball fields and the tennis courts ran overflow of vehicles resulted in vehicles
parking on Olive and in the 6900 block of Etzel.

Mr. Crow asked the City Manager to provide an update and how much longer Big Bend
construction will be. He also followed up with his question that he asked at the last
meeting; if the City had an invoice from Avant Advertising Group or not and if there is
one could he have a copy of it.

Mr. Walker noted that the City does have an invoice which was received July 8.

Ms. Ricci asked Mr. Walker if the Council received a summary of all the outstanding City
contracts and agreements and if not could he send it. She noticed in the paper that
there was a dedication ceremony at the end of July and stated that this has not gone
before the Parks’ Commission or the Council. She thanked Mr. Walker for providing the
lease for the Green Center and noted that it answered everybody’s question. Ms. Ricci
asked about residents serving seven and ten years or longer on real estate type
commissions and thought new people with new ideas might be good for the
redevelopment on Olive.

Mayor Welsch noted her Region Initiative on Youth would be held at the Heman Park
th
Community Center on July 12 at 6:00 p.m. She said there will be reps from St. Louis
City and County attending; six mayors, reps from local non-profit organizations working
with youth; young people; and adults interested in working with the young. Mayor
Welsch also noted that she is working with U City resident Wilmetta Tooliver-Diallo and
Martin Casas, owner of Frontyard Features, to show two outdoor movies in U City this
th
summer. The first movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark would be July 20 in Heman Park,
with Jackson Park PTO handling the concessions. Mayor Welsch said the Barbara
Jordan PTO will do the concessions at the second movie even on August 31 in Fogerty
Park.

Mr. Glickert moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m., seconded by Mr. Crow and

carried unanimously.

Joyce Pumm, MRCC
City Clerk
