F. Porter, 341 Westgate <br />Mr. Porter and some fellow citizens were present to state that they thought the <br />City’s ordinance of limiting household pets to two was unreasonably restrictive. He <br />stated that of the twelve municipalities contiguous to U City, only Pagedale had <br />such a restriction. Staff recommended it be awarded to second <br />lowest bidder, Key Equipment, for $35,145 each for a total of $70,290, because the <br />units more closely adhere to specifications given and also offer local availability of <br />parts and warranty service. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to approve the purchase of two leaf vacuums, was seconded by <br />Ms. Ricci and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />The purchase of two refuse collection trucks. Staff recommended contract be <br />awarded to Key Equipment and Supply for the Wayne Curbtender/Peterbilt for <br />$227,495, because the chassis/body combination best suited the City’s needs with <br />low maintenance costs and staff has been trained on this equipment. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved to approve, was seconded by Ms. Ricci and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />The purchase of a dump truck replacement unit. Staff recommend contract be <br />awarded to Truck Centers/Midwest Systems for $83,040. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow moved to approve, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />The purchase of an ambulance. The staff recommended contract be awarded to <br />the second lowest bidder, Emergency Services Supply for $207,000. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Don Miner gave a brief description of the ambulance that was to be <br />purchased. He said the low bidder did not meet the specifications given, so the City <br />met with the other two bidders. Chief Miner said the specifications this time would <br />allow the remount of the box on its replacement, providing a savings to the City in <br />the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert asked where Emergency Services Supply Company was located. Chief <br />Miner said in Missouri about one hour and a half from St. Louis and will supply a <br /> <br />
