Sherman said she cannot understand <br />the reason_ for the proposed ordinances and feels that the <br />City is making it difficult for the Pastrami Joynt to stay <br />in University City. Siie said earlier closing would impose <br />a financial burden, and they have a considerable investment <br />in this operation.. <br />Hr. Martin H. Jones and lir. Daniel Lane <br />have indicated that they wish to address the City Council concerning the re- <br />cent tragedy which occurred at Hidland and Canton. The ITayor said that at <br />the meeting of December 9th, 1974, a petition was presented by Mr. Alphonso <br />Jackson, containing a substantial number of signatures, and he (the iayor) <br />had indicated at that time that the matter would be taken under advisement. <br />lie said on December 26tH, 1974, "lie had sent a letter to 11r. Jackson, and the <br />ISayor read the letter into the record, informing 11r.
