Session 1120, Minutes Page 12 <br />December 15, 1975 <br />Bills for Second Reading, continued: <br />BILL NO. 7108 - OP.DINAidCE I'.EPE,�I.1A SECTION 23-33.1 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />RELATING TO IIISCELLANEOUS OFFIE71SES (ANNOYING TELEPHONE CALLS): <br />Bill No. 7108 - Deferred. <br />BILL NO. 7109 - AI,IENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE PNNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO 11IS- <br />CELLANEOUS OFFENSES, ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOUli AS "SECTION 23-37.1 <br />WEAPONS - HANDGUNS PROHIBITED": <br />Bill No. 7109 was given its second reading. <br />Bill No. 7109 was given its third reading. <br />Councilman Lieberman moved that Bill No. 7109 be adopted as an ordinance. <br />Motion was seconded by Councilmen Grimm. Upon roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: AYES: Councilmen Lieberman, Adams, Grimm, Werner, Glickert <br />and Mayor Kaufman, NAYS: Councilman Weissenburger. ABSENT: None. The <br />motion therefore carried and Bill No. 7109 was adopted as Ordinance No. 4960. <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: <br />BILL NO. 7110 - COMPENSATION ORDINANCE (EPff,:RGENCY CLAUSE): <br />Before introduction of this bill, City Manager Ellman said that Section 10 <br />as it appears in the bill of which the Council has copies, is to be deleted <br />and a new Section 10, reading as follows, is to be inserted: <br />Inasmuch as the force of this ordinance must apply at the termina- <br />tion of a work cycle of hours by firefighters which will next occur <br />on December 30, 1975 and since another 28 days would necessarily <br />pass before the application of this ordinance could be effective, <br />an emergency does exist placing this ordinance in effect and in <br />force after its passage by law. <br />The City Manager explained that the intent of the bill would be to change <br />the present 58.75 average work creek of firefighters on a 28 day working <br />cycle to 56 hours average work week on a 27 day work cycle, effective <br />December 31, 1975. In addition, the average 60 hours per week for ambulance <br />drivers on a 28 day cycle would be changed to 58 hours per week, effective <br />on the same date. <br />Councilman Lieberman introduced the bill, entitled: <br />"AN ORDI14ANCE FIXING THE C011PENSATION TO BE PAID TO CITY OFFICIALS AND <br />EMPLOYEES AS ENUI1ERATED HEREIN FROM AND AFTER DECEIMER 31, 1975 A14D REPEAL- <br />ING ORDINANCE NO. 4936, AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. <br />The bill was assigned number 7110 and given its first reading. <br />Bill No. 7110 was given its second reading. <br />Bill No. 7110 was given its third reading. <br />Councilman Lieberman moved that Bill No. 7110 be adopted as an ordinance. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Adams. Upon roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: AYES: Councilmen Lieberman, Adams, Grimm, Werner, Weissen- <br />burger, Glickert and Mayor Kaufman. NAYS: None. ABSENT: None. The motion <br />therefore carried and Bill No. 7110 was adopted as Ordinance No. 4961. <br />
