Zimmerman, 7548 Parkdale,
Clayton, Missouri. Mr. James C. Blair, d/b/a Grady's Bar, currently holds a
license at this location which will expire December 31, 1978.
No citizens came forward to comment so the Mayor declared the public hearing
closed at 7:40 P.M.
Councilman Glickert called attention to a letter Council received from Edge-
mont Construction Company, objecting to the granting of a liquor license to
Grady's Bar because of an alleged lack of parking space for the bar requiring
people to use Edgemont's lot. Mrs. Glickert thought this was a problem for
the police rather than Council, and the construction company should ask police
to ticket any illegally parked cars.
Councilman Sabol asked Mr. Zimmerman to come forward. Mr. Zimmerman said he
plans to do several things to address the parking difficulties. Lines will
be painted on the bar's lot, so parking will be more orderly: and Mr. Zimmer-
man hopes to arrange with Larry's Auto Cleanup, which closes at 5:00 P.M.,
for the use of their parking facilities at night.
Councilman Glickert moved to approve the granting of the liquor license to
Grady's Bar. Councilman Sabol seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
PUBLIC SEARING ON LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION AT 375 NORTH BIG BEND BLVD.
The Council scheduled a public hearing at 7:45 P.M. this evening to consider
an application for a license to sell all kinds of intoxicating liquor by
the drink at retail at 375 North Big Bend Blvd. from Mrs. Assunta Garamella,
10688 Country View Drive, Creve Coeur, Mo. At its meeting of January 23, 1978s
the Council authorized continuance of a liquor license issued to Mr. Santora,
deceased, in the name of his daughter, Mrs. Garamella.
No citizens came forward to address Council on this matter so the Mayor
declared the public hearing cb sed at 7:50 P.M.
Councilman Lieberman asked if Mr. and Mrs. Garamella would come forward. He
congratulated them on how well they are running their restaurant and on the
good reputation it holds in their neighborhood. But one complaint he has
heard many times is that the outside of the building needs painting very badly.
