Bill No. 7411 became Ordinance No. 5223. <br />BT?.L,S vOR INTRODUCTION <br />Before introduction of the following two bills, Councilmember-Adams had a question <br />which had to do with the bili. establishing a new article.(XXI) in Chapter 18. In <br />Section 18-134 of that bill, he questioned -the need for,the Mayor to be included <br />in the list of those who may inspect the pawnbroker's register of loans and pur- <br />chases, feeling that was precluded by the University City Charter. It was decided <br />to delete the word "Mayor" from Section 18-134. It was not necessary to move the <br />change, since the bill was not yet introduced. <br />BILL NO. 7412 - AMENDING CHAPTER 18 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO LICENSES AND BUSI- <br />NESS REGULATIONS, BY REPEALING SECTION 18-19 THEREOF, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THERE- <br />OF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 18-19. LISTING OF BUSINESSES, ETC., HAV- <br />ING SET FEES; AMOUNT OF.SET.FEES" SO AS TO DELETE THE LICENSE FEE FOR PAVNBROKER <br />FROM THIS SECTION;CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. <br />A bill was introduced by Councilmember Adams, entitled: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF,THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, RELATING TO LICENSES AND BUSINESS -REGULATIONS, BY REPEALING SECTION 18-19 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO LISTING OF BUSINESSES, ETC., HAVING SET FEES; AMOUNT OF SET <br />FEES, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS 'SECTION 18-19. <br />LISTING OF BUSINESSES, ETC., HAVING SET FEES; AMOUNT OF SET FEES' SO AS TO DELETE <br />THE LICENSE FEE FOR PAWNBROKER FROM THIS SECTION; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE, AN <br />EMERGENCY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY." <br />The bill was assigned No. 7412 and given its first reading. <br />Bill No. 7412 was given its second reading. <br />Bill No. 7412 was given its third reading. <br />Councilmember-Sabol moved that this bill be adopted as an ordinance.
