Session 1242, Minutes <br />April 14, 19.80.. <br />Page 7 <br />Since there are some unresolved factual questions.,.Councilmember Kelley moved to <br />table this matter until those issues are.resolved,.with an opinion from the City <br />Attorney as to what can legally.be done in this matter. Councilmember Adams sec- <br />onded the motion, which carried unanimously. Mrs. Metcalfe asked the City Attor- <br />ney to research whether or not conditions such as Mr. Lieberman suggested could <br />be applied. Mr. Adams said he wanted to be sure abutting residents were notified <br />when. this will ba on ..the..agenda_ Mr..,.Qllendorff-,.,.said..it.woul,d..be.,cn the. agenda at <br />the next meeting, April 28. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMIT.IONAL USE .PERMIT FOR RESTAURANT NT AT 6518 OLIVE BOULEVARD <br />The City Manager said Mr. Robert Tran Du Tho applied for a conditional use permit <br />to operate a carry -out restaurant at 6.618 Olive Blvd. The Plan Commission unani- <br />mously approved the application, with the following conditions: <br />1. A screened dumpster shall be provided in the rear; <br />2. Refuse containers shall be provided in the front for the carry- <br />out trade. <br />Mr. Tho, 1353 Sarandale, and Mr. Al Kaufman, 14 Spoede Hills, Mr. Tho's attorney, <br />were present to answer questions. In response to Mayor Mooney-, both said they <br />understood the conditions. Councilmember Sabol.moved approval. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilmember Kelley and passed unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF BIDS FOR REPLACEMERT OF BRIDGE BEAM..,. <br />The City Manager said the City solicited bids for the removal and replacement of <br />an inadequate bridge beam -at Kingsland and Crest Avenues. Responses to the bid <br />invitation are as follows:_ <br />Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. $ 9,700 <br />Kirkwood Contractors, Inc. $ 9,831 <br />St. Louis Bridge.Co $ 9,900. <br />Christian Contracting, Inc. $ 9,922 <br />Kloster Company, Inc.. $10,250 <br />Bennish & Bommarito Constr. Co. $13,857 <br />Engineers' estimate. $1.4,000 <br />Funding for the installation of the beam will be from the contractual services <br />account $2620-26.02. It is appropriate at this time to transfer $11,579 from <br />Contingency for this purpose-in.the following breakdown: <br />$ 1,879_- Fabricating,the beam <br />9,700 - Installing the beam <br />$ 11,.579 Total.cost. <br />It is the recommendation of the staff that the contract be awarded to Kozeny- <br />Wagner, Inc. for their lowest and best bid of $9,700. Kozeny-Wagner has advised <br />that the beam is ready and could be installed next week. <br />
