been residents of University City for over 50 years, married for 61 years and has five <br />wonderful children. Mr. Crow said Mr. Lieberman had great passion for public service <br />whether it was 29 years on the City Council, on the governor’s council on aging has <br />been passed on to his children. He said the Liebermans crossed all ward lines in <br />serving University City. Mr. Crow had hoped that everyone would take the opportunity <br />to reach out to his family and thank them for the service he gave to the city. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci said she did not know of Mr. Lieberman’s passing. She noted that he <br />appointed her to the Plan Commission in the in 2000. She asked if anyone is aware of <br />anything that they feel the City should be aware of to contact the City Manager or the <br />City Clerk so they can pass the work on. She announced the flea market at Heman <br />Park the coming weekend. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch noted the St. Louis County Department of Human Services of Older <br />Residents called CORP is providing free legal services for County residents of 60 or <br />older with an annual income of $30,000 or less. One of the sites where the services will <br />be offered is at Centennial Commons and is by appointment only. For an appointment <br />residents should call 314-615-0931. The next event on the Mayor <br />s Regional Youth Initiative is called the Youth Speak Out! and is September 20 at 6:00 <br />at Heman Park Community Center. The next large meeting of those involved in the <br />Regional Youth Initiative will be October 4 at the Sigel Education Center in the City of St. <br />Loui(2039 Russell Boulevard at 6pm). The Mayor noted she is continuing to meet with <br />other mayors throughout the region on the sales tax distribution issue, along with <br />. <br />Finance Manager Tina Charumilind The Mayor noted that the Fair U City executive <br />committee is looking for volunteers in all areas to organize the Fair in 2012. Anyone <br />who is interested should please contact her. Mayor Welsch said she met with other <br />Mayors in the upper River des Peres watershed and they are writing letters in support of <br />the EPA and MSD agreement on the how to handle sewage entering the river. She said <br />“Raiders of the Lost Ark” was shown at Fogerty Park last month and the next movie, <br />“ET” will be shown at Heman Park on October 1st. Mayor Welsch said she served on <br />the Council with Mr. Lieberman from 2002 to 2006. She appreciated working with him. <br />He was an example of what a committed community volunteer should be.
