Mr. Sharpe said he was satisfied when Mr. Walker stated he would have an <br />independent project manager manage this project. He said the fire house will be <br />beneficial for the City and was not sure the $1.2 million mentioned by Mr. Crow is <br />what it will cost and hoped that it would come in much less. Mr. Sharpe did say he <br />had some concern about possible flooding in that area and would like the <br />surrounding residents of the project be notified. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked if there could be a public hearing at the next Council meeting, and if <br />the timeline for construction work would allow for this delay. Mr. Walker agreed. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft asked if there was a consensus of Council of having a public hearing two <br />weeks from now and a vote two weeks after the hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to postpone the vote on Resolution 2011 – 14, the new fire <br />station and the financing of it, until a public hearing took place at the next City <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft asked that part of that motion be the vote to be taken at the next Council <br />meeting after the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Price also asked that the motion state that a minority representation in the <br />workforce be represented on the project, as well as an independent project manager. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow hoped a notice goes out to many and during this time the Council gets a <br />clearer understanding of the total cost of the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked all Councilmembers to review all papers they have previously <br />received going back to early 2009. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert called for Point of Order as he stated he had a motion on the floor. <br />Since his first motion had no second, he moved that “Council postpone the vote on <br />the resolution before them on the new fire house and its financing tonight and that <br />there would be a public hearing on the new fire house, the financing and the <br />inclusion of a project manager <br /> <br />Mr. Price said it should be an inclusion of an independent project manager and <br />minority representation be present on the project, which Mr. Glickert agreed to. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft said he would also like to add that the final vote would not take place until <br />two weeks after the public hearing which would be the next Council meeting. Mr. <br />Glickert agreed. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert’s new motion was: to postpone the vote on the resolution before Council <br />until November 12, allowing for a public hearing to he held on October 24 on the new <br />fire house and it’s financing; to amend the resolution to include the hiring of an <br />independent project manager and inclusion of minority participation in the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft seconded the motion. <br /> <br /> 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
