<br />Park Commission Minutes – 92711, pg. 2 <br />Traffic Commission - INFORMATIONAL <br />Public Works staff and Traffic Commission are sending a recommendation to City Council to restrict <br />parking on the west side of Melville from Delmar to Kingsbury, and on the north side of Loop South <br />from Melville to Leland. <br /> <br />Special Events <br />U City Alumni Picnic (looked like a record crowd) <br /> <br /> <br />Bike Cycle Cross (well attended for first time event) <br /> <br /> <br />Jazz Festival (well attended for first time event) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Very few problems and all the organizers were very impressed with the venue and the assistance they received <br />from the department. <br /> <br />Municipal Park Grant <br />Recommend submitting grant application for irrigation and field improvements at Heman Fields #3 and #4 <br /> <br />Mr. Winker introduced Ms. Andrea Riganti, Director of Community Development who gave a brief overview of <br />the re-organization of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry; as well as the Recreation Division’s <br />move to Community Development. <br />Council Liaison Report - none <br />Individual Park Reports <br /> <br />Karen Dille – Heman Park: great usage of Heman this year; looks good <br /> <br />William Field – Ruth Park Golf Course: fantastic shape; #8 still a problem; Ackert Walkway: looks nice; still <br />disturbed as Berry Plaza seems to have taken over the Ackert Walkway <br /> <br />Linda Peoples – Fogerty Park: receiving plenty of usage; due to joggers with dogs-may need additional Mutt <br />Mitt stations <br /> <br />Karen Palmer – Mooney Park/Kaufman Park: everything is fine <br /> <br />Caryn St. Clair – Millar Park: good shape; Ruth Park Woods: path overgrown; Rabe Park: looks good <br /> <br />John Sweeney – Adams Park/Lewis Park/Flynn Park: all in good shape <br /> <br />Unfinished Business - none <br />. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
