Michelle stated that the alumni association sends out emails. If alumni have parents
who live in University City, they could fill out the survey on behalf of their parents.
Clay asked if we could get information or a list about the home health care agencies in
the area.
Genice added that the veteran’s administration provides home health care.
Michelle stated that MEAAA provides a respite program. MEAAA could provide
information about that program. Michelle also mentioned that on August 27 there will be
an Alumni picnic at Heman Park. She provided the email contact: picnic@uchsaa.org
and the contact person is Gary Boyd.
The group agreed that the email blast is a good idea and to use it if it can be approved.
Michelle stated that the Alumni Association has a website. Information could be
included in an email blast.
Genice added that churches may have a homebound service.
Jen stated that we should include all agencies that Michelle is mentioning in a list for the
final report. It sounds like there is a lot and we should get the word out.
Michelle stated that many agencies have different requirements and standards. She
added that it would be nice if there was a division or department of Senior Services or
something like that. Perhaps they could answer questions or there could be a hotline,
etc. For example, on Delcrest there is an agency that provides free tax services for
seniors.
Abbie asked for an update on the surveys.
Genice provided an update on the Epworth Center. They will be handing out surveys.
She also contacted the Girl Scouts. Genice also asked about a list of schools.
Clay stated there are latch key programs where surveys could be distributed. They are
also trying to reach private school students.
Victor said he contacted the Boy Scout representative but did not get a response.
Victor said many of U City Youth Society kids go to private schools and live in University
City. He said he asked U City Youth Society kids to go online and fill out surveys again.
Clay said he also gave the survey to summer school kids. There will also be a table set
up at the back to school rally.
tm;
E
