<br /> <br />Change of Use <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />Change of Use permits requirements <br />1) 2 sets of plans that show the existing tenant space and the proposed remodel <br />(documents must be sealed and signed by a Missouri registered design professional if the <br />project cost exceeds $25,000 or major structural changes are proposed. Please be <br />aware that the Plans Examiner may also request a design professional’s evaluation if he/ <br />she finds it necessary.) <br />The following information must be included when applying for a “Change of Use” building permit: <br />1. The “use group” occupying the space <br />2. The occupancy load of the space. <br />3. Means of egress <br />4. Fire protection <br />5. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements <br />6. Accessibility requirements <br />7. Exterior conditions (parking) <br />A brief explanation of the information that is required for the change of use building permit is as <br />follows. <br />1. “Use group classification” provides information about the type of service being offered in the <br />building. <br />2. The occupancy load of the space will assist in determining the number of exits required. It <br />also places a cap on the number of individuals who can occupy the space. <br />3.
