<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />October 25, 2011 <br />Centennial Commons, 7210 Olive Blvd. <br /> <br />President John Sweeney called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Other members present were: <br />Karen Dille Ewald Winker, Interim Director <br />William Field Andrea Riganti, Director-Community Development <br />Gwendolyn Gaines-Beckwith Lynda Euell-Taylor, Recreation Superintendent <br />Caryn St. Clair Lynn Ricci, Council Liaison (arrived at 6:43 pm) <br /> <br />Excused Absence: Karen Palmer, Linda Peoples <br />Disposition of Minutes from September 27, 2011 <br />Minutes reviewed. Ms. Dille moved to approve minutes, Ms. Gaines-Beckwith seconded. Vote taken: all <br />approved. <br />Citizen’s comments on items not on Agenda – Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel submitted a request to address the <br />Park Commission on the following agenda items: 7a. Family Changing Room at Heman Park Swimming Facility <br />and Pool Music. Mr. Sweeney recommended as these items are on the agenda, they be discussed at the <br />appropriate time. All in attendance agreed. <br />Department Report <br />Mr. Winker reported on the following: <br /> <br />Update on projects <br /> <br />Flynn Park Playground $304,827 project <br />Moving forward – Work has begun on the renovation project. The equipment has arrived and is stored at the <br />Park Maintenance Shop. <br /> <br />Mooney Park Playground $130,000 project ($25,000 last year for wall) <br />Moving forward – Last week Park Maintenance staff removed the existing equipment and readied the site for <br />the concrete contractor. Most of the concrete walks have been poured and the playground pad concrete work <br />started today. <br /> <br />It is my hope that both projects are completed by late November. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
