<br />Park Commission Minutes – 102511, pg. 2 <br /> <br />Municipal Park Grant – Irrigation and field renovations in Heman Park <br />Council approved the resolution supporting the application be made. It will be submitted at the end of the <br />week. <br /> <br />Parks, Public Works, Community Development Merger <br />The committee which both Ms. Riganti and myself are part of, are working on the final logistics of the merger <br />and hope to have a recommendation to the City Manager shortly. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br /> <br /> William Field – Metcalfe/Ackert Parks: no changes; Ruth Park Golf Course: looks very good; concerned over <br />the decline in rounds of golf played in last four years. Mr. Sweeney suggested golf professional, Doug <br />Castellari be invited to next meeting to discuss these concerns. Ms. Dille indicated a tree near the netting has <br />fallen and brought the netting down. Mr. Winker stated he is aware of this problem. <br /> <br />Gwendolyn Gaines-Beckwith – Eastgate/Kingsland/Majerus Park – clean and well used, especially Eastgate. <br /> <br />Caryn St. Clair – Rabe Park: in need of a mutt mitt holder; Millar Park: good shape; Ruth Park Woods: trails are <br />in good shape, portion of trails and drive used by Public Works have merged making determination of either <br />difficult. Mr. Winker will review. <br /> <br />Karen Dille – Heman Park: looks good; switched park review with Ms. St. Clair (now Ms. Dille will report on <br />Millar and Ms. St. Clair will report on Heman) <br /> <br />John Sweeney – Adams Park/Lewis Park/Flynn Park: all in good shape <br /> <br />Unfinished Business - none <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Ms. Ricci reported the following: <br />Budget process has begun; public budget hearing will be held Thursday, October 27 at the Heman Park <br /> <br /> <br />Community Center, beginning at 6:30 pm. <br />“Lion Gate” – a newsletter produced by Community Development which focuses on the University City <br /> <br /> <br />business community is now available. <br />Chamber of Commerce kick off meeting was held this morning (October 25, 2011) at The Brentmoor. <br /> <br /> <br />New ward maps are now available. <br /> <br /> <br />University City held a joint meeting with Olivette to discuss development plans for Olive and I170. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Hearing was held yesterday (October 24, 2011) to discuss the proposed fire station. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
