<br />Park Commission Minutes – 102511, pg. 3 <br />The City has refinanced its bonds. <br /> <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Family Changing Room at Heman Park Swimming Pool Facility <br />Ms. Elisie Glickert, 6712 Etzel indicated a family changing room is needed at the Heman Park Swimming Facility <br />to accommodate those families with younger children of the opposite sex; as well as individuals with <br />disabilities. Mr. Sweeney recommended staff review and see what could be done. <br /> <br />“Class Pass” – class/program incentive program <br />Ms. St. Clair discussed the idea of a “Class Pass” for various programs available at Centennial Commons. Ms. <br />Euell-Taylor gave an overview of her “Class Pass” concept. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />Fee Waiver for Special Event Requests: <br />After much discussion, Mr. Sweeney indicated special event requests should be brought before Park <br />Commission for review at least three months prior to requested event date; and recommended this vote be <br />tabled until Ms. Ricci presents additional information regarding fee waivers. <br />Heman Pool Rules/Polices: <br />Ms. Elisie Glickert read a statement from resident Jen Jensen expressing her concerns with music being <br />played at Heman Park Swimming Pool. Ms. Glickert indicated she also shares Ms. Jensen’s concerns <br />regarding the music. <br />Mr. Sweeney presented the following staff recommended regarding Heman Pool Rules/Policies for vote: <br /> <br /> Allowing daily admission patrons “in and out” privileges – Ms. Dille moved approval, Ms. St. Clair <br />seconded. Vote taken – all approved. <br /> <br /> Continue with the current practice of “music days” and “non-music” days; providing family friendly radio <br />stations and appropriate volume level – Ms. St. Clair moved approval, Ms. Gaines-Beckwith seconded. <br />Mr. Field – opposed, Ms. Dille – abstained. Motion – failed. Mr. Sweeney indicated this policy is an <br />open issue to be discussed at a future meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> Maintain current practice of allowing patrons (with paid admission, card swipe, etc.) admittance to <br />facility. If entering water must have proper swim attire – Ms. St. Clair moved approval, Ms. Gaines- <br />Beckwith seconded. Mr. Field – opposed. Ms. Dille – approved. Motion passed. <br /> <br /> Enforcement of swim diaper use by parents of infants/toddlers – Ms. Gaines-Beckwith moved approval, <br />Ms. Dille seconded. Vote taken – all approved. <br />Mr. Sweeney inquired about Ms. Kim Jones and her request to turn Fogerty Park tennis courts into basketball <br />courts. Mr. Winker indicated he recommended Ms. Jones discuss her request with the Fogerty Park neighbors <br />for their input. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
