<br />Mr. Crow moved to approve the application and was seconded by Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked if the applicant was present for her to ask any questions. <br /> <br />Ted Jackson, Collinsville, Illinois <br />Mr. Jackson said he would be the property manager of the non-profit organization <br />Granny Tsai’s Resale Shop and Donation Center. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked what his charity was. Mr. Jackson said it is not- for- profit and they <br />intend to support University City and north St. Louis for charity purposes. They will <br />do work with the seniors of the community and hope to also help with Special <br />Olympic Funds. They are replacing the National Council of Jewish Women l that <br />was at this location for a number of years. Ms. Ricci asked if they would mostly be <br />doing charity for U City charitable adventures and Mr. Jackson agreed that would be <br />the case. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />Wilson Avenue demolition, staff recommended award to low bidder Diamond H. <br />Acquisition Corp. for $175,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved to approve and was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br />Mayor Welsch stated she was pleased to note that this contract does have a strong <br />component in calling for a sustainable demolition. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft asked if this means all of the houses have been bought out. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker said not all have been bought out but the City. Two closings are <br />scheduled for the next day. The City is still working to come to agreement on the <br />final three houses. <br /> <br />Motion to approve carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />IT Contract. Staff recommended award to Tech Electronics who had the second <br />lowest bid. Staff took into consideration Tech Electronics’ track record with the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved to approve, was seconded by Ms. Ricci and the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Agreement for City Attorney Legal Services. Mr. Walker said the State Auditor <br />recommended that the City solicit proposals for legal services. The City received <br />several proposals and recommended Paul Martin to be the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved for approval and was seconded by Ms. Ricci. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked how many firms applied. Mr. Walker stated that six firms had <br />applied. Mr. Crow asked how many were interviewed and Mr. Walker stated that all <br />six were interviewed. Mr. Crow asked if this firm was the low bidder and Mr. Walker <br />said the firm was the second lowest bidder. Mr. Crow asked why the low bidder <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
