He asked when the website would <br />be updated with the Council minutes. Mr. Crow wished Ms. Watson the best of luck in <br />her new position with Clayton. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch said she will be attending the kick-off of the newly established Chamber <br />of Commerce and applauded the community business owners and volunteers who have <br />made it happen. She announced the first Public Budget meeting for the FY 2013 budget <br />will be October 27 at 6:00 at Heman Park Community Center. Mayor Welsch said she <br />will be speaking at an event that will be honoring the Health Protection and Education <br />Services program that was started by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Paine and U City East and <br />meets regularly at U City Library. She said this program is a great example of what <br />committed community volunteers can do for their community. Mayor Welsch said she <br />attended the topping out at Pershing Elementary School along with Councilmember <br />Ricci. That was a ceremony where the highest piece of steel in new construction is <br />positioned, locked down, and topped by an American flag. Mayor Welsch stated she <br />had a number of meetings with Councilmembers Price, Sharpe, City Manager Walker <br />with some staff, Flint Fowler from the Herbert Hoover Boys Club, Superintendent <br />Joylynn Pruitt and School Board President Stacy Clay, starting discussions on how to <br />provide opportunities for the City’s youth for next summer and for the long term future. <br />Mayor Welsch wished Ms. Watson good luck and thanked her for all the good work she <br />has done for the City. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Shelley Welsch adjourned the meeting at 7:59 PM. <br /> <br /> <br />Joyce Pumm, MRCC <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br />
