<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />November 22, 2011 <br />Centennial Commons, 7210 Olive Blvd. <br /> <br />President John Sweeney called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm. Other members present were: <br />Karen Dille Andrea Riganti, Director of Community Development <br />William Field Lynda Euell-Taylor, Recreation Superintendent <br />Karen Palmer Lynn Ricci, Council Liaison (arrived at 6:44 pm) <br />Linda Peoples <br /> <br />Excused Absence: Gwendolyn Gaines-Beckwith, Caryn St. Clair <br />Disposition of Minutes from October 25, 2011 <br />Minutes reviewed. The following corrections were indicated: <br /> <br /> Mr. Sweeney read an email from Ms. St. Clair which stated: a.)Under Park Reports – Ms. Dille will <br />report on both Rabe and Millar Parks; Ms. St. Clair will report on Heman Park and retain Ruth Park <br />Woods. b.) Under New Business – it was she who brought up the need for a Family Changing Room at <br />Heman Park Swimming Facility and Ms. Glickert spoke in support of the idea. <br /> <br /> Mr. Field indicated the minutes should reflect he was not opposed to the Heman Pool policy of <br />maintaining the current practice of allowing patrons (with paid admission, card swipe, etc.) admittance <br />to facility, and if entering water they must have proper swim attire <br /> <br /> Mr. Sweeney indicated the minutes should reflect his abstention to the Heman Pool policy of continuing <br />with the current practice of “music days” and “non-music” days; providing family friendly radio stations <br />and appropriate volume level. <br />Ms. Dille moved to approve minutes with corrections, Mr. Field seconded. Vote taken: all approved. <br />Citizen’s comments on items not on Agenda <br /> – None <br />Department Report <br /> <br />Ruth Park Golf Manager, Doug Castellari gave an overview of his plans to increase Ruth Park Golf Course <br />usage. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney inquired about the status of the driving range study. Ms. Riganti reported the study is still <br />incomplete; hopefully an update will be available by January 2012, which will be presented to the commission <br />by Mr. Walker and Mr. Winker. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
