The list of <br />budget transfers will become pan of the record. <br /> <br />PURCHASE OF PUMPER TRUCK FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />The City Manager said bid invitations and specifications for purchase of a new fire pumper, including <br />trade on a 1984 Seagrave, were sent to eight dealers of fire apparatus, with the following response: <br /> <br /> Dealer <br />Seagrave Fire Apparatus <br />Sutphen Fire Apparatus <br />Saulsbury Fire Apparatus <br /> <br />Net Price <br />$328,645 <br /> 310,920 (no trade in) <br /> 291,489 <br /> <br />Delivery <br />200 working days <br />10 months <br />10-12 months <br /> <br />At~er careful review of the bids, it was recommended that the Saulsbury pumper be purchased for <br />$291,489. This includes extensive replacement equipment ranging from hose nozzles and axes to a <br />generator and vehicle emrication tool. Funding will be from local use tax, with $280,000 budgeted this <br />year and the balance from Contingency. If this tax is not available, the City can arrange a loan as needed. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval as recommended. Mr. Cotton seconded the motion, but asked why the <br />administration did not wait to order this truck until it is known whether the courts will approve the use <br />tax. Mr. Ollendorffsaid a year's lead time is needed when ordering this type of vehicle; also, the City <br />has been putting $80,000 a year into a fire replacement fund, which now has $100,000 in it. With the <br />current year and next year's funds, the total will be close to what is needed to pay for the pureper. If <br />the use tax is not available, the remainder needed may be borrowed. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Ollendorff said the trade-in amount was $13,400, and Saulsbury's <br />bid was not only the lowest but the best in terms of meeting specifications. <br /> <br />All voted Aye. <br /> <br />SITE PLAN - 8522 OLIVE <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended approval of expansion of the not-for-profit social service agency in a <br />portion of the office building at 8522 Olive, subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. Off-street parking spaces shall be striped. <br />2. Signs shall be in strict conformance with the provisions of the University City Sign Code. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson moved approval. Mr. Cotton seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br /> <br />
