<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />November 06, 2006 <br /> <br />At the Regular Council Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers <br />of the City Hall, on Monday, November 06, 2006, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order <br />at 6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Mr. Sharpe, Jr. <br /> Ms. Stefany Brot <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br />Mr. Wagner had an excused absence. <br />Also in attendance was the City Manager, Ms. Julie Feier. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The minutes of October 23, 2006, Regular Council Session were moved for adoption by <br />Mr. Price, seconded by Mr. Glickert and approved unanimously. <br /> <br />The minutes of October 23, 2006, Study Session were moved for adoption by Ms. Brot, <br />seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and approved unanimously. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Ms. Susan Carter, a teacher at Jackson Park elementary school was given a proclamation <br />from University City in honor of her receiving the Milken Family Foundation’s National <br />Educational Award. She received a standing ovation. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />None <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S AGENDA <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />1. <br />Greens Mower for the Golf Course <br /> Low bidder, Turf Professionals Equipment, for $18,957, was recommended. <br />2. Repair to Street Lights in 7000 and 7100 blocks of Washington and Kingsbury <br /> Low bidder, Reinhold Electric, for $18,000 was recommended. <br />3. Demolition of Wilson Avenue Buyout Properties. <br /> Low bidder, Mid States Wrecking Co., Inc., for $19,500, was recommended. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved for approval of the consent calendar, seconded by Ms. Brot and <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. Fire Chief Olshwanger was present to provide an update on the City’s fire and <br />ambulance service. <br /> Chief Olshwanger reported that his force consisted of 47 members of which 40 are <br /> licensed paramedics. Currently the equipment consists of two pumpers, one aerial <br /> ladder-truck, two advance life support ambulances and a staff vehicle for the <br /> Battalion Chief. In October the fire department had 299 EMS calls, 140 fire calls, <br /> <br />
