<br /> <br />Ms. Brot moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br />Roll Call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Ms. Ricci., Mr. Wagner, Mr. Glickert, Ms. Brot, Mr. Price and Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: None <br /> <br />Bill 8915 became Ordinance 6674. <br /> <br />BILL 8916 <br />8. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.08 OF THE UNIVERSITY <br />CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO DOGS, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 6.08.110 THEREOF, RELATING TO PIT BULL DOGS, AND <br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />“SECTION 6.08.110 PIT BULL DOGS,” THEREBY AMENDING SAID <br />SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE REQUIRED LIABILITY <br />INSURANCE AMOUNT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Elizabeth Wainwright, 7204 Dartmouth <br />Ms. Wainwright is an Animal Health Officer for the Missouri Dept of Agriculture. <br />She said all dogs can be dangerous. Therefore, you should require liability <br />insurance on every dog. She would like to see the bill postponed until Council can <br />make an intelligent decision about the coverage of all dangerous dogs. The <br />question is how you define dangerous dogs. Ms. Wainwright said she would <br />volunteer to chair or be on a committee planning an effective and fair ordinance that <br />would regulate dangerous dogs. <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave <br />Mr. Dockett felt the question on dangerous dogs is about the amount of liability <br />insurance coverage carried by the dog’s owner. He recommended an increase in <br />the liability insurance needed per owner. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved to defeat and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr., <br />Roll Call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Mr. Sharpe, Jr., Mr. Glickert, Ms. Brot, Mr. Price, Ms. Ricci, and Mayor <br />Adams <br />NAYS: None <br /> <br />Bill 8916 was defeated. <br /> <br />Bill 8916 was defeated. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />1.
