None

CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel
Ms. Glickert pointed out the importance of the boards and commissions; the Council relies
on their in-depth discussion or lack thereof. She has attended several of the Park
Commission meetings and felt the commission needed to study the issues more. At the
meeting she attended the fee structure was given to the members at the time of the
meeting and not ahead of time, which would not allow the commission members time to
study and evaluate the information.

Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave.
Mr. Dockett was concerned that though the Council passed lower fees for non-residents to
use the dog park, non-residents were not encourage to use the Centennial Commons,
especially the swim pool.

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Ms. Brot reminded everyone that the first public meeting to decide the future of the City
owned Sutter Meyer house would be held Thursday, November 9, 2006, at Pershing
School, 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Brot described the joint venture, called the Big Read, between Washington University,
the U-City Council, and the U-City Schools. She asked the Council for help in suggestions
of how to get ethnic diversity participation in the reading of Fahrenheit 451. The
participants will have a tour of City Hall and be rewarded with certificates. The sixth grade
University City students who read Hanna’s Suitcase will be invited to a play, based on the
book, at Edison Theater, Washington University.

Mr. Price requested a future study on the role of non-residents and their participation in
programs in Centennial Commons and the Heman Park outdoor pool.

Mayor Adams said that he had received a request concerning immigrants from a group
made up of different religious organizations. He said this group would like our support in
letting our police know that they would not be required to act as INS agents of the Federal
Government.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.

Joyce Pumm,
City Clerk
