ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY <br />REPEALING SECTIONS 34-102 (DEFINITION OF “SIGN, WALL”), 34- <br />103.4(2) AND 34-106.2 THEREOF RELATING TO DEFINITION OF <br />“SIGN, WALL,” MISCELLANEOUS SIGN REGULATIONS AND PRIMARY <br />SIGNS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-102 (DEFINITION OF “SIGN, WALL”)," <br />“SECTION 34-103.4(2) MISCELLANEOUS REGULATIONS” AND <br />“SECTION 34-106.2 PRIMARY SIGNS” BY AMENDING SAID SECTION <br />SO AS TO PERMIT SIGNS PERPENDICULAR TO THE WALL IN THE <br />“CC” - CORE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; CONTAINING A SAVINGS <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on September 27, 2006, <br />the University City Plan Commission recommended an amendment of Sections 34-102 <br />(definition of “Sign, Wall), 34-103.4(2) and 34-106.2 of the University City Zoning Code <br />by adding provisions to allow signs perpendicular to the wall in the “CC” - Core <br />Commercial District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of public hearings to be held by the City Council in the <br />City Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on December 11, 2006, was duly <br />published in the The St. Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearings were held at the time and place specified in <br />said notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly <br />heard and considered by the City Council; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, <br />Missouri, relating to zoning is hereby amended by repealing Sections 34-102 (definition <br />of “Sign, Wall), 34-103.4 and 34-106.2, relating to the definition of “Sign, Wall” <br />Miscellaneous Sign Regulations and Primary Signs, and enacting in lieu thereof a new <br />section to be known as "Section 34-102 (Definition of “Sign, Wall”)," “Section 34- <br /> <br /> <br />
