<br />103.4(2) Miscellaneous Regulations” And “Section 34-106.2 Primary Signs” by <br />Amending Said Section so as to permit signs perpendicular to the wall in the “CC” - <br />Core Commercial District," as so amended shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />34-102 Definitions. <br />Sign, Wall. “Wall sign” means any sign attached and parallel to a wall or <br />similar architectural element which is an integral part of a building. For <br />signs located within the “CC” - Core Commercial District, a “wall sign” <br />shall also mean any sign attached and perpendicular to a wall or similar <br />architectural element which is an integral part of a building. <br /> <br />34-103.4 Miscellaneous regulations. <br />2. Projection Into Rights-of-Way. No sign shall project beyond a right-of- <br />way line, except for the following: <br />a. Wall signs not projecting more than eighteen (18) inches from the <br />exterior surface of a building or the surface of an integral architectural <br />element which is part of the building; or <br />b. Signs mounted on or under a canopy, awning or marquee which is <br />permitted to project into a right-of-way, in accordance with Article 5, Section <br />34-55.1, subsection (2)(c) of this chapter, and where the bottom edge of the <br />sign is not less than seven feet above the sidewalk or pedestrian way. <br />c. In the “CC” - Core Commercial District a primary wall sign may be <br />attached to a building at an angle and project into the Right-of-Way, <br />provided: <br />1) There is no more than one such sign for each entrance door to a <br />business establishment; <br />2) The sign does not project more than five (5) feet from the face of <br />the building; <br />3) The bottom of the sign is at least ten (10) feet from grade and its <br />top is no higher than whichever of the following is highest: forty <br />(40) feet from above grade, or the height of the building at the <br />building line; and <br />4) No support for the sign shall extend above the cornice line of a <br />building to which it is attached. <br /> 5) No signs perpendicular to the wall shall be internally illuminated. <br /> <br /> <br />34-106.2 Primary signs. <br /> <br />1. Each business or institution occupying the ground floor of a premise shall <br />be permitted primary signs with a total gross sign area of not more than <br />twenty-five (25) square feet.
