Traffic Commission 6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767, Fax: (314) 863-9146 CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION January 11, 2012 Commissioner Melcine Henderson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. The members present were:  Jackie Womack  Catherine Nichols  Hyla Bondareff  Phyllis Blalock  Paulette Smith  Stefany Brot  Angelica Gutierrez, Public Works Liaison  Sinan Alpaslan, City Engineer  Richard Wilson, Director of Public Works and Parks  Shaun Margul, Police Department Representative Also Present were:  Jessica Bueler and Joe Edwards, representatives from the Loop Special Business District Members not present:  Terry Crow, Council Liaison 1. Approval of Minutes December 14, 2011 Commissioner Blalock made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, seconded by Commissioner Bondareff and unanimously approved. 2. Melville Avenue – Special Parking needs Commissioner Henderson presented the item and requested input from the Commission. Commissioner Bondareff explained that at the December 14, 2011 Traffic Commission meeting, the request for special parking needs on Melville Ave - Loop South area was discussed by the Commission, including the location of the accessible parking space and the addition of parking meters on Melville Ave. Commissioner Bondareff moved to accept the Public Works & Parks Department’s proposal of the location for the accessible parking space within the recently-installed perpendicular parking spaces on Loop South and delete one parking space to provide an access aisle as required by law as shown on Diagram 1.
