Forsyth Blvd and Lindell Blvd intersection.

Commissioner Henderson presented this item and requested the Commission to comment
on it. Commissioner Brot asked the Public Works-Parks Department to obtain more traffic
volume data to evaluate a stop sign warrant for this location

Commissioner Brot also inquired about the reason why a left turn is allowed at this
intersection. Officer Margul stated that the purpose of this meeting is to identify the best
way to approach the safety issue at this intersection, and that he does not think a left turn
prohibition is feasible.

Commissioner Bondareff recommended proceeding with the Public Works & Parks
proposal for now. The Public Works-Parks Department proposed to stripe an edge line for
the westbound driving lane on Forsyth Blvd approaching the intersection. Also a warning
sign reading “Cross traffic does not stop” will be added on Lindell Blvd. It was clarified that
there is no motion needed to act on this proposal.

4. Other Items

Commissioner Brot requested additional information regarding the electrical receptacle
installed for buses on Melville Ave. Mr. Joe Edwards explained that at his expense he
hired an electrician to install an electrical receptacle for busses to have electricity without
having the motor running while parked on Melville Ave and prevent air pollution.
Traffic Commission Minutes – January 11, 2012 Page 2
