Session 170 I, Minutes <br />July 7, 1997 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK'S DOCKFT: <br /> <br />BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING: <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8330 - AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY <br />RELATING TO BUILDINGS BY REPEALING ARTICLES I, II, AND SECTION 6-30 AND 6-30. I THEREOF, AS <br />AMENDED, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW ARTICLE TO BE KNOWN AS "ARTICLE I BUILDING <br />CODE" SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL BUILDING CODE, THIRTEENTH EDITION, 1996; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mrs. Thompson seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel stated that he fully supports the adoption of the BOCA Code. It contains a number of items that he had tried to <br />get through the Missouri legislature in terms of safety. One is for burn/scald prevention and the other is for smoke <br />detectors. His concern is for the children that he works with and he is, therefore, very happy to vote for the adoption of <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Mr. Ware, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mrs. <br />Thompson, Mayor Adams. Bill #8330 passes and becomes Ordinance #6112. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8331 - AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY AS AMENDED RELATING TO MINIMUM STANDARDS GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS AND <br />MAINTENANCE OF ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES, PREMISES AND ALL EXTERIOR PROPERTY, AND ENACTING IN <br />LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER WHICH IS TO BE KNOWN AS "CHAPTER 17, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE <br />CODE" SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, FIFTH EDITION, 1996; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved adoption. Bill no. 8331 passes and becomes <br />Ordinance No. 6113. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8332 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, RELATING TO GARBAGE, REFUSE AND WEEDS, BY REPEALING SECTION 14-12 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO LOCATION OF REFUSE CONTAINERS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 14-12. LOCATION OF REFUSE CONTAINERS," BYAMENDING SAID <br />SECTION SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT REFUSE CONTAINERS BE STORED BEHIND THE BUILDING LINE; <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Ware moved adoption.
