VERSION 1

Ms. Brot asked if this option was going to come before the Council as she has not
received any information on it. Ms. Feier said that she did not put two
telecommunication items on the same agenda because of the complexities of each.
She wanted to have attorney Mr. Paul Martin, University City’s legal representative
on this issue, be present for the discussion; he would not available until next month.
Ms. Brot asked about the very large size and placement of AT&T’s video boxes in
the front yard of houses.

C-1-
d
Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel
Ms. Glickert talked about Olive enhancements. She suggested that
Washington University’s Department of Art concentrate their public art productions
to be placed on Olive Street Road. Ms. Brot said that she as a Council liaison
would relate her request at the next Arts and Letters commission.

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Ms. Brot announced the up-coming Big Read program. She urged everyone to see
the play “Hana’s Suitcase” at the Edison theatre. University City’s role with the Big
Read program is to examine the relationship of government today to the themes of
the required book Farenheit 451, where firemen burned down houses and books
instead of putting out fires. On February 17, 2007, U-City’s government will host a
pizza party and impromptu entertainment for the participant. (Paid for by a grant
from the National Endowment for the Arts) The program’s second part on February
26, 2007, will be a tour of City Hall and attendance at the Council meeting that
night. After participating there will be a drawing for prizes for those who
participated in both parts of this program.

Mr. Price thanked Ms. Brot, Ms. Feier, and all other people from U-City who testified
or attended in the recently held state hearings on proposed rate increases for
Ameren UE.

Mayor Adams passed out a booklet to the Council on Economic Vitality, “Your City’s
Success in a Changing Economy”, from the National League of Cities. He
announced public forums of the Second Century Commission on January 9, 2007,
University City Library, 7p.m., January 16, 2007, 7p.m., at Barbara Jordan School,
and January 21, 2007, 2:30p.m., at Centennial Commons. Mayor Adams reminded
everyone of the Loop’s Ice Carnival on January 13, 2007, and the celebration of the
life and principles of Martin Luther King at University City High School on January
14, 2007.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Joyce Pumm
City Clerk

C-1-
e
