SESSION 1700 <br /> <br /> MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> JUNE $0, 1997 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the City Council of University City was held in Room 6 of City Hall on Monday, June 30, 1997, to <br />consider passing four bills introduced at the regular meeting on June 23, 1997. Notice of the meeting was posted Thursday, <br />June 26, 1997. Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following <br />members of the Council were present: <br /> <br /> Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br /> Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br /> Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />ABSENT: Mr. Hardy Ware was excused. Larry Lieberman was excused due to being out of the country. Also present was <br />City Manager Frank Ollendorffand Assistant to the City Manager, Gregory Rose. <br /> <br />CITY CLERK'S DOCKET: <br /> <br />BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING: <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8326 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL TAX FOR THE PARKVIEW GARDENS <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SO THAT THE ADDITIONAL TAX ON THE REAL PROPERTY FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 1997-98 SHALL BE EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($.85) PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($ 100.00) ASSESSED <br />VALUATION. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br /> <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mrs. Thompson seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Mr. <br />Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Schoomer, Mrs. Thompson, Mayor Adams. Bill #8326 passes and becomes Ordinance #6108. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8327 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL TAX FOR THE UNIVERSITY CITY LOOP <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SO THAT THE ADDITIONAL TAX ON THE REAL PROPERTY FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 1997-98 SHALL BE EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($.85) PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ASSESSED VALUATION. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br /> <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Bill #8327 passes and becomes Ordinance #6109. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8328 - AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXES TO BE <br />COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1997-98, TO PROVIDE FOR <br />GENERAL REVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, AND TO PROVIDE FOR A POLICE AND FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUND. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br /> <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br /> <br />
