Ray is willing to <br />present to the GPC 2-3 times per year to give updates of major projects. <br />v.Update on the Washington University Loop project: Plan Commission review on August <br />22, request for zoning change. The Plan Commission will make a recommendation to City <br />Council. There will then be three readings for the proposed ordinance and one public <br />hearing in September. The project will also go before the Historic Preservation <br />Commission. <br />b.Election of Secretary: No volunteers from those present. Lois will ask Tim or Helen if they will <br />accept the office. <br />c.Green Business Challenge: <br />i.Ellen Bern has expressed interest on behalf of the UCity Chamber of Commerce. Lois will <br />give a detailed report at the September meeting. <br />ii.Dianne described a “Lungs at Work” program through the Earthways Center, EPA and the <br />American Lung Association. <br />4.Old Business: <br />a.Energy Ordinance <br />i.Tim sent links to policies of other cities to Jared Agee. <br />b.Special Study Sessionwith City Council <br />i.Tim and Lois have met twice to develop the presentation. Lois met with Lynnette and <br />Jenny to review questions. <br />ii.Poll for the best date: All members are available September 10; all but one isavailable <br />September 24. Send poll to Helen and Tim via email. <br />c.Goal Setting <br />i.Action Items,Goals: These are the top action items from the July 9 goal setting workshop. <br />Each commission member accepted an action item to develop in more detail. <br />River des Peres Master Plan in collaboration with Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD), <br />River des Peres Watershed Coalition, EPA, Missouri Department of Natural <br />Resources (DNR)–Neville, Dianne (tentative) <br />Coordinate Ecosystems/ Habitat with Audubon Society, Parks, GPC <br />GreenMaster Plan for all of University City, with the following components: Parks, <br />Open Space, City Properties, Lighting, Planting, Street Furniture, Design Standards – <br />Jerry <br />Green Residential Code Update –Lois, Jeff <br />Green Energy Code Update, including energy reduction targets–Tim (tentative), Jeff <br />Community Energy System, possibly tied into Loop Trolley and/ or Washington <br />University Loop Housing projects–Tim (tentative), Jeff <br />Focus on Business Owners(outreach, education, compliance): Sustainability; <br />Recycling; Reduce-Reuse-Recycle; Loop Businesses –Dianne or Helen (confirm) <br />Subcommittee Structure, Quarterly Reportingto full GPC–Lois <br />Education/ Marketing –Lois <br />Bike Share/ Car Share/ Reduce Traffic –Open <br /> <br />
