<br /> <br />Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board <br />Minutes <br />April 26, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br />The Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board (EDRSTB) held a meeting in the EOC Room <br />located at City Hall, 6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri on April 26, 2012. The <br />meeting commenced at 6:30 p.m. following a public hearing on the annual Economic Development <br />Retail Sales Tax Budget FY 2013. <br /> <br />Voting Members Present Voting Members Absent <br />Rosalind Williams (Chairperson) Jacqueline Wellington <br />Stacy Clay <br />Barbara Sydnor <br />Gordon Myers <br /> <br />Non-Voting Members Present <br />Joe Edwards, Loop Special Business District <br /> <br />Non-Voting Members Absent <br />Shelley Welsch, Mayor <br />Eric Klein, Olive Business Association <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />Andrea Riganti, Director of Community Development <br />Ray Lai, Deputy Director of Economic and Community Development <br />Laura Zacher, Manager of Economic Development <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />There was a motion by Stacy Clay, seconded by Barbara Sydnor, to approve the minutes of the April <br />11, 2012 meeting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Preparation of Annual Budget <br />Andrea Riganti discussed the possible uses of the revenue generated by the tax, as described inthe <br />Missouri State Statute and the City’s Municipal Code. She then reviewed the requests for funding <br />received from the Loop Special Business District, Olive Boulevard Historic Corridor (presented by <br />City Staff), U City in Bloom, the Department of Public Works, and the Department of Community <br />Development. Funding requests totaled $987,820. Ms. Riganti indicated that the sales tax revenues in <br />recent years have been approximately $540,000 and that the amount for FY 2013 is expected to be the <br />same. <br /> <br />The EDRST discussed the merits of each request. After some deliberations, there was a motion by <br />Gordon Myers, seconded by Barbara Sydnor, to recommend to the University City City Council a <br />$917,820 <br />budget of for the following activities: <br /> <br />Department of Public Works and Parks Projects $456,800 <br />Delmar Loop #4 Parking Lot Improvements $324,800 <br />Delmar Loop Security Cameras $ 40,000 <br /> <br /> <br />
