CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br /> Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert expressed her wish to keep the logo “Neighborhood to the World”. She felt <br />University City has been the Neighbors to the World, housing all the refugees in the <br />City’s neighborhoods. Ms. Glickert noted that when going to Heman Pool, one can hear <br />every language of the world. All Saints Parish was founded by the St. Louis <br />Archdiocese, as ALL Saints, specifically to be welcoming to everyone. This proposed <br />logo tagline has a long history in the community. <br /> <br />I. Applicant: Washington <br />University. Public Hearing was advertised in Missouri Lawyers media August 25, <br />2012 and letters were sent by the City to all residents within 185 feet of the zoning <br />changes. <br /> <br />Art Ackermann, VP Facilities Planning and Management at Washington University <br />presented and displayed information associated with Washington University Loop <br />Retail and Student Housing Project. This project is on the boundary line of <br />University City and of the City of St. Louis. Both cities participated in construction <br />approvals and zoning ordinances associated with this project. The redevelopment <br />project covers 4.4 acres. Some features of the redevelopment include: a pedestrian <br />walkway connecting Delmar with Enright; a residential portion that will have 1, 2 and <br />3 bedroom apartments, which will accommodate 450 to 600 students with <br />underground parking space of one for every two beds; and 150 trees to be added to <br />the overall area of the project. The project incorporates five different buildings that <br />will be built in a three-phase approach.
