Session 1645, <br />June 26, 1995 <br /> <br />Page4 <br /> <br />Mrs. ~ moved approval. Mrs. Schuman seoonded the motion and' ask,~ if <br />there have been recent problems at this location. Mr. Ollendorff said there <br />were still calls for the police, but much less violenoe than several years <br />ago. She asked if the calls w~re related to alcohol sales, and Mr. Ollen- <br />dorff said he did not believe most of the problems st~mt-ed from that, th~ <br />it could be a contributing factor. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thcm~son said it was not the fault of the store operator if youngsters <br />congregate there. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman ~b~erved that in plaoes where youngsters congregate, the sale of <br />alcc~ol could make a difficult situation worse. She said the new manager <br />will ~ to p~-~vide c~going monitoring. Mr. Ollendorff related that most of <br />the recent police calls did not se~u to be liquor-related (loitering, general <br />disturbance, larceny, traffic violations, etc.). <br /> <br />All voted Aye. <br /> <br />TRACTOR TO TOW OSMPO6T TURNER (FORMER OONSf]gT ~ NO. 6) <br /> <br />The City Manager said invitations to bid on a tractor to tow the compost <br />turner were sent to seven cc~es, with the following response: <br /> <br />Winnir~Equi~m~nt ~o. 's bid of $59,645.87 for a <br />7800 tractor. F~ding is from grants frum the Missouri Department <br />Resources and St. Lou/s-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District. <br /> <br />John Deere <br />of Natural <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval, Mr. Schocmersecondedthemotion, and all votedAye. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said the tractor, compost turner, and trailer are all items be- <br />ing purchased with a grant f-£~ the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, <br />which will greatly improve and expand the City's c~ing operation. <br /> <br />D~DLITION- 7044 RAYMOND <br /> <br />The City Manager asked Council to approve adding this item to the agenda. <br />Mrs. Thompson so moved. Mrs. Schumansecondedtb~motion, and all votedAye. <br /> <br />The City Manager said the house at 7044 Raymond burned in a fire last fall. <br />Demolition hearirgs were held, and the owner was given an opportunity to make <br />repairs. He has not acted and tb~ house has deteriorated badly and is dan- <br />gerous to the' neighborhood. The City invited three companies to bid on the <br />demolition, but ~nly o~e did--Aalco Wrecking at a cost of $5,470, which will <br />beccme a lien on the property. Mr. ~ moved approval of Aalco's bid, <br />and Mrs. Schuman seconded tb~ motion. All voted Aye. <br /> <br /> <br />
