The City Manager requested <br />oonfirmation of his e~ergency order of an elevator ~pgrade followin~ a break- <br />dow~ of the door operu~¢losing system. This syst~ was 42 years old and <br />while it could be re~aired, would have required addition] down time and only <br />a c~e-year guarantee. Purchase and installation of a new system was ordered <br />frcm Miller Elevator CUmpany at a cost of $10,230. Archway Elevator, U.S. <br />Elevator, and Otis Elevator also were contacted but none were able to provide <br />a bid within a few days or installation within a month. Even tb~ brief delay <br />in attempting to find other bidders for this work resttlted in a cost increase <br />of $1800. The elevator must also be operated manually until repairs are com- <br />pleted, costing additional money. <br /> <br />Curepost Turner ~achine (#5). Invitations to bid on a c~t~ost turning mchine <br />were sent to 11 cc~panies, with tb~ following response: <br /> <br />Feoon, Inc. (Willibald TBV 3000) <br /> <br />$71,000 <br /> <br />The turner is entirely funded by grants fk-c~, the Missouri Department of Nat- <br />ural Resources and St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District. A~- <br />ceptance of Fec~n's bid of $71,000 was r~co~m~. The grants for the turn- <br />er and a tractor (former Consent Calendar #6) totaled $135,000. <br /> <br />Trailer for Cc~t Turner (#7). (Factory Custom) <br /> <br />$11,740 <br /> 9,420 <br /> 8,400 <br /> <br />The trailer is funded by a grant ($16,000) from the Missouri Department of <br />Natural Resources. Aoceptance of Fecon's bid of $8,400 was reo~mt~nded. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~er moved approv-~l of the Consent Calendar. Mr. A~_ms seconded tb~ <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LOOP SPEC/AL~JSINESS DISTRICT 1995-96 ~3IX~ETAND 1994-95 ANNUALREPORT <br /> <br />The City Manager rec~m~nded that the City Council adopt the 1995-96 budget <br />of the Imop Special Business District for the fiscal year beginni~ July 1 in <br />the amount of $40,300, and the 1994-95 Annual Report. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption, Mrs. Schuman seconded, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />LIOUORLICENSE - 7-ELEVEN/8159 OLIVE <br /> <br />The city Manager said an application to sell beer and wine by the package at <br />retail at th~ above store was received and reviewed. Tb~ new operator wants <br />the same lioense as that currently in effect. Council my approve since all <br />r~Attrem~nts have been met. He said tb~ applicant was advised that continu- <br />ing effort is r~c~ed to control occasional unruly behavior outside the store. <br /> <br /> <br />
