Session 1639, ~
April 24, 1995

Page4

Mrs. Sohuman said although there must be an absolute minimum of six feet on
the east side, she also felt a full forty foot setback may not be n~ce~y.

Mayor Majerus said Council might suggest parameters that Dr. Williams, his
architect, and the staff could work with. Mr. Goldman said he thought staff
would find that acceptable, asoertaining that the porch (33 feet from the
pave~nt) was to be considered part of the setback. He asked about the
fence, and after d~,-~ion it was decided the motion would not include that,
and Dr. Williams could make the request for a fence at a later time. Mrs.
Schuman remin~ Dr. Williams that the further forward this house is sitting,

Mr. Sc~ 'm~ved approval of the height and mass with conditions that a
front setback be in substantial conformity with the houses on the south side
of the street, that a six foot side yard on the east be mainta' _1ned___, and any
additional fees will be waived. (k~sideration of front yard fencing would
r~ a separate application to the City, with waiver of fees. Mrs. Thompson

The City Manager ~ contracting with Townsend's International Fiber-
glass Oorporation to repair ruptures in the water return channel, and install
additional return inlets in order to control water pressure and thereby elim-
inate this as a cause of water loss. ~ cost is guaranteed not to exceed
$12,000. Townsend's installed the original fiberglass and b~-~ assisted with
maintenance very satisfactorily. The City is unaware of otb~_r firms that
have knowledge of He~an pool and the specific fiberglass installation. When
the work is c~leted, cumpany representatives and City engineers and staff
should be in a better position to investigate and analyze remaining problems.
~11ing the water loss will be a step-by-step process since there appears
to be a series of problems rather than one major cause.

Mr. Cotton moved approval, Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, and all voted Aye.

LIO~ORLIC~SE - IBID'S, 6687 DEIMAR

Mr. Scho~_rlefttheCouncil chamber.

The City Manager said Council may approve the beer and wine license transfer
to the new managar at Ibid's Cafe, since he has a clean record and the appli-
cation is in or~. The restaurant also has a good record of compliance with
the liquor laws.

Mr. Wagner movedauproval. Mr. COtton seconded tb~motion and all votedAye.
Mr. Scho~erreturnedtotheOouncil chamber.

R~FORR~IDERATIONOF SITE PIAN- 6600 DRYMAR

Mayor Majerus noted that a request to reconsi_der the size of the second floor
deck of the site plan at 6600 Delmar (April 10, 1995, agenda) was received.
