<br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br />1. Carol Wofsey was sworn in to the Traffic Commission in the City Clerk’s office <br /> <br />H. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br />Jan Adams, 7150 Cambridge <br />Ms. Adams stated that the Council meetings were the most appropriate forum for <br />discussing City politics. She spoke of tactics used by Mr. Tom Sullivan. Ms. Adams noted <br />that she has submitted all of her comments for public record. Her complete statement can <br />be viewed at the end of these minutes. <br /> <br />Jen Jensen, 706 Pennsylvania <br />Ms. Jensen was looking for an answer from the Loop business owners concerning the <br />proposed Loop Trolley. She asked: how much business will be lost during the <br />construction period, where will the delivery trucks park during unloading, and why does <br />Blueberry Hill have only two parking meters on their block. Ms. Jensen said the trolley will <br />cause farther traffic problems in the Loop. Her complete statement can be viewed at the <br />end of these minutes. <br /> <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert asked the Council to start asking questions in public about the Loop Trolley. <br />She wanted to see the Fire Chief and the Police Chief address the Trolley Co. in person. <br />Ms. Glickert said the ridership keeps changing; they have a proposed fee but they don’t <br />know how much but projected it would cover 30 percent of the operating budget; they have <br />said the stub will be at Kingsland and what affect will this have on the Rainman and the <br />attached Garden; and how will one get to and from the post office. Ms. Glickert stated the <br />Council should not have a ground breaking until the money was in the bank. She was also <br />concern about the effect on the bicycle path at Mehlville. Ms. Glickert said the City of St. <br />Louis will gain and University City will lose. She asked for an official poll of the business <br />owners of the Loop asking if they favored the trolley in the Loop. Ms. Glickert also asked <br />that the Plan Commission, the Parks’ Commission and the Traffic Commission be <br />consulted. She asked for some answers. <br /> <br />I. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />J. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />K. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Terminate the existing Bench Craft advertising contract resulting in a future budget <br />amendment of $10,000 which will come from the excess revenues from the golf <br />course. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to approve the termination of the existing contract and was <br />seconded by Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft noted that the Parks’ Commission unanimously approved the termination of <br />the contract. <br /> <br />The motion to terminate the contract carried unanimously. <br />2 <br /> <br />
