Prior to the meeting, we <br />recommend that you visit the site(s). Approval of Minutes October 10, 2012 <br /> <br />4. Loop Trolley Project Presentation <br /> <br />Please find attached Traffic Request Form submitted on October 29, 2012 by Tim Nittler, representing the <br />Loop Trolley Project Designer, from Consultant CH2MHill. A presentation will be provided to the Commission <br />with different aspects of the Trolley project, including the proposed improvements to the traffic flow and safety <br />at the intersection of Delmar Blvd and Trinity Ave with the construction of a Roundabout, new parking <br />restrictions needed at certain sections of the Delmar Loop as well as the proposed mitigation plan for City Hall <br />parking, impacts of the removal of Sgt. Mike King and Delmar Blvd Traffic Signal, impact of removing the <br />turning lanes on Delmar at some intersections and any proposed language to be included in the Traffic Code in <br />regards to Street Cars and it safe operations, i.e. No passing zones, loading zones, etc. <br /> <br />5. University Drive between Jackson Ave and Hanley Road. <br /> <br />Please find attached Traffic Request Form submitted on October 3, 2012 by Nikoleta Kolovos, resident at 7448 <br />University Drive, requesting to install evaluate traffic on University Drive between Jackson Ave and Hanley <br />Road, as it is perceived that traffic is cutting through this street to avoid the Pershing Ave – Hanley Road <br />intersection traffic signal at a high speed. <br /> <br />University City Police Department will present speed data and traffic counts at the time of the meeting. Based <br />on the information provided, a recommendation will be presented to the Traffic Commission. <br /> <br />6. Request to install a Stop Sign on Jackson Ave at Cornell Avenue. <br /> <br />Please find attached Traffic Request Form submitted on October 15, 2012 by Fran Colletti, resident at 811 <br />Jackson Avenue, requesting to install stop signs on Jackson Ave at Cornell or near the new crosswalk. <br /> <br />The Traffic Commission approved the removal of the pedestrian crosswalk and the Stop Sign located to the <br />south of the new crosswalk on Jackson Ave at the southern leg of Cornell Avenue at the June 2012 <br />meeting. City Council approved amendment of the Code soon thereafter. The report provided by staff on that <br />approval is below: <br /> <br />The City of University City constructed a concrete path within Mooney Park connecting the playground area <br />and the basketball courts to Jackson Avenue, with a new curb ramp at Jackson Avenue. The curb ramp <br />connects to the northern leg of Cornell Ave. and is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA). A new pedestrian crosswalk was painted, and yellow-green fluorescent warning signs were installed <br />recently to provide adequate indication of the crosswalk. Future sidewalk and ramps will be installed on the <br />www.ucitymo.org 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
