SESSION 1633 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY OOUNCIL <br /> <br /> January 9, 1995 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Coun- <br />cil chamber of City Hall on ~nday, January 9, 1995, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided and calle~ the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the Oouncil were present: <br /> <br />Mr. George R. ~ <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmember Joseph L. A~ams, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved that the December 12, 1994 ~dnutes be approved as submitted. <br />Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager said the Sierra Club hm-~ contracted with FFPIRG to conduct <br />its membership drive, to be carried out by eight to ten solicitors seeking <br />funds and political support for the "Save the Remaining Wetlands" campaign. <br />~ne permit is requested for January 10 to February 10, 1995. Since the ap- <br />plicant meets all legal require requirements, approval was ~ed. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~er m~ved approval. Mr. Cotton seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanim~mly. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - VACATION OF NORFH~DOR <br /> <br />The City Manager said a public hearing was set for 7:30 p.m. this place and <br />date to consider c~m¥~nts on a request to vacate the rema'n%ing half of an al- <br />ley north of Northmoor between Big Bend and Manhattan. The alley has never <br />been open to public use and is not needed. If Oouncil wishes to proceed with <br />the vacation, a bill ba~ been prepared for the City Clerk's docket. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus c~ the public hearing at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Jo~e Molina, 7047 Noir, said he did not understand what the vacation <br />_mg~__nt. Mr. Ollendorff said the property has two dedications--one to the City <br />for an alley, and the other for utility easements; the City proposes to give <br />up its interest and the property will revert to the adjacent owner, but the <br /> <br /> <br />
