Session 710 <br /> <br />HINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />August 20, 1962 <br /> <br />At a regular session of the University City Council held in the Assembly <br />Room of the City Hall on Honday, August 20, 1952, l/ayor Nathan B. Kaufman <br />presided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. In addition to the <br />Hayor, the foliovinE members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />H. Hadley Grimm <br />Mrs. Zelda Epstein* <br />It1B. Baris <br />Paul Tandler <br /> <br />ABSENT: Morie B. Soule. <br /> <br />*Councilman Epstein arrived at the meeting at 7:40 P.H. <br /> <br />Also p~esent were City Manager Charles T. Henry, and John J. Morris, <br />Director of Law. <br /> <br />MINUTES. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Tandler, seconded by Councilman Grium, and unani- <br />mously carried, the minutes of the special Council meeting of August 13, <br />1962, ~ere approved as received. <br /> <br />c zpnONS.. <br /> <br />HOUSIl~,,ANDHOHE FINANCE AGENCY. WORKABLE PROGRAH: <br />Upon inquiry by Mayor Kaufman whether any co~nun!cations had been received, <br />the City Clerk called attention to a letter dated August 14, 1962 (copies <br />of vhich have been transmitted to members of the Council) from Hr. R. A. <br />Bethuns, Regional Administrator, Housing and Home Finance Agency, Fort <br />Worth, Texas, advising that approval has been given to the City's request <br />for recertification of its Workable Program for Community Improvement. <br /> <br /> ER's <br /> <br />APPLI_CA~ION FOR LICENSE TO SELL 3.2% BEER -HR. FRED H. BAUIt: <br />City Ha~ager Henry stated that application has been made by Hr. Fred H. <br />Batan, operator of Baum's Kosherette Delicatessen, to sell non-intoxicating <br />beer (3.2?°) at retail, and upon investigation, the application has been <br />found te be in order. Hr. Baumbeing present offered to answer questions <br />propounded by members of the Council. <br /> <br />Follo~ing discussion, Councilman Tandler moved that Mr. Baum's request for <br />a 3.2% beer license (for the sale of non-intoxicating beer by the package, <br />at retail) be approved. Hotion seconded by Councilman Grimm and unani- <br />mously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING ~3 FUEL OIL: <br />The City Hanager stated that bid' proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of the City's ~3 fuel oil requirements for the fiscal year <br /> <br /> <br />
