UNIVERSITY CITYCOUNCIL STUDY SESSION 5th floor of City Hall 6801 Delmar October 22, 2012 th The City Council Study Session was held in the Council Chamber on the 5 floor of City Hall, on October 22, 2012. Mayor Shelley Welsch called the Study Session to order at 5:34 p.m. In addition to the Mayor Welsch, the following members of the Council were present: Ms. Paulette Carr Mr. Stephen Kraft arrived at 5:45 p.m. Mr. Terry Crow Mr. Michael Glickert Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. Also in attendance were City Manager Lehman Walker, Director of Public Works and Parks Rich Wilson and Director of Finance Tina Charumilind. Mayor Welsch opened the Study Session asking if there were any changes that needed to be made to the Council’s agenda for the evening. City Manager Mr. Walker asked that the Roll Call Vote to go into an Executive Session be removed. Mayor Welsch noted that Robert Kuhlman could not make the meeting and will be sworn in at the City Clerk’s office. She also noted that Resolution 2012 – 10 was repeated twice on the agenda and all agendas available this evening had the duplication removed. Mr. Walker introduced the Director of Public Works and Parks Mr. Wilson who provided the presentation of Capital Improvements for Fiscal Years 2014 – 2018. Mr. Wilson provided the assets which were:  81 miles of City owned roads  20 miles of County and State roads  14 miles of private roads  6 miles of concrete alleys and 1 mile of a gravel alley  18 bridges with one being a foot bridge  1 underpass  4 large MSD culverts  115 miles of sidewalks  4 parking lots with 493 spaces  5,400 signs  513 City owned street lights; Ameren maintains 3,400 street lights which the City pays for  8 traffic signals  18 parks consisting of a total of 187.5 acres  10 bike and walking trails for 5 miles  94 acres comprised in golf course  25 hitting stations at driving range  1 swimming pool  1 recreation center 1
