<br />UNIVERSITY CITYCOUNCIL <br />STUDY SESSION <br />5th floor of City Hall <br />6801 Delmar <br />October 22, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br />th <br />The City Council Study Session was held in the Council Chamber on the 5 floor of City <br />Hall, on October 22, 2012. Mayor Shelley Welsch called the Study Session to order at 5:34 <br />p.m. In addition to the Mayor Welsch, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Paulette Carr <br />Mr. Stephen Kraft arrived at 5:45 p.m. <br />Mr. Terry Crow <br />Mr. Michael Glickert <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance were City Manager Lehman Walker, Director of Public Works and Parks <br />Rich Wilson and Director of Finance Tina Charumilind. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch opened the Study Session asking if there were any changes that needed to <br />be made to the Council’s agenda for the evening. City Manager Mr. Walker asked that the <br />Roll Call Vote to go into an Executive Session be removed. Mayor Welsch noted that <br />Robert Kuhlman could not make the meeting and will be sworn in at the City Clerk’s office. <br />She also noted that Resolution 2012 – 10 was repeated twice on the agenda and all <br />agendas available this evening had the duplication removed. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker introduced the Director of Public Works and Parks Mr. Wilson who provided the <br />presentation of Capital Improvements for Fiscal Years 2014 – 2018. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilson provided the assets which were: <br /> <br /> 81 miles of City owned roads <br /> <br /> 20 miles of County and State roads <br /> <br /> 14 miles of private roads <br /> <br /> 6 miles of concrete alleys and 1 mile of a gravel alley <br /> <br /> 18 bridges with one being a foot bridge <br /> <br /> 1 underpass <br /> <br /> 4 large MSD culverts <br /> <br /> 115 miles of sidewalks <br /> <br /> 4 parking lots with 493 spaces <br /> <br /> 5,400 signs <br /> <br /> 513 City owned street lights; Ameren maintains 3,400 street lights which the City <br />pays for <br /> <br /> 8 traffic signals <br /> <br /> 18 parks consisting of a total of 187.5 acres <br /> <br /> 10 bike and walking trails for 5 miles <br /> <br /> 94 acres comprised in golf course <br /> <br /> 25 hitting stations at driving range <br /> <br /> 1 swimming pool <br /> <br /> 1 recreation center <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
