Traffic Commission

6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, Missouri 63130, Phone: (314) 862-6767, Fax: (314) 863-9146

signage including a stand up sign in the middle of the crosswalk. Additionally if, after
implementation, the results are not sufficient, this item will be revisited and, if necessary,
additional signage could be installed, including the option of a Stop Sign. Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Brot and unanimously approved.

5. Council Liaison Report – Councilmember Carr.

Councilmember Carr provided the following comments:

A. City Council passed a motion to reaffirm Rule #40 and minutes from the City
Council meeting were made available for all interested in reading them
regarding the discussion of the Rule #40.
B. City Council considered the absences of Commission and Board members. The
appointing body is the only body that can ask for resignation. Councilmembers
Crowe, Carr and Sharpe Jr. have been tasked to add a sentence to the Council
Rules in reference to the absences and who has the right to request resignation.
Councilmember Carr does not anticipate problems with this, and if there is a
problem regarding attendance, the City Council would send a letter to thank the
board member for volunteering and remind them of the responsibility of a board
member.

C. Complete Livable Streets plan will be drafted as a resolution, not an ordinance.

6. University City Traffic Commission Bylaws Revision.

Commissioner Henderson explained the amendments to the proposed revision of the
University City Traffic Commission bylaws.
Councilmember Carr stated that it is acceptable for the Chairperson of the Commission to
have a verbal or written contact with the member being absent, based on City Council

Rule 38E.

Commissioner Wofsey made a motion to adopt the University City Traffic Commission
bylaws as presented before the Commission, seconded by Commissioner Brot and
unanimously approved.

7. Miscellaneous - Title 10 – Vehicles and Traffic of the University City Municipal
Code

Ms. Gutierrez explained that a binder with a printed copy of the Title 10 – Vehicles and
Traffic of the University City Municipal Code, also known as the Traffic Code, has been
provided to all the Commissioners for them to have a better understanding of the Section
of the Code that codifies, as appropriate, the City Council actions taken based on the
Traffic Commission’s recommendations.

8. Adjournment.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Angelica Gutierrez, Public Works and Parks Liaison
Traffic Commission Minutes – November 14, 2012 Page 5
