Session 1761
July 26, 1999

OLD PRICE STRUCTURE

NEW PRICE STRUCTURE

$200 per fir
$20 per hour (4 hr min.)
$50 security deposit

$500 for 5th fir
$300 per fir 1st and 2nd firs
$900 to lease 1st, 2nd and 5th
firs
$40 per hour (4 hr min.)
$150 security deposit

Although the increase may seem significant, prices have not been increased since
1996, and when compared to the cost of renting other similar facilities the new
prices are very competitive. Unlike other facilities, the prices for renting floors at
City Hall have been established with the idea of maximizing profits in mind.
While we have different prices for residents and non-residents to rent a facility
such as the community center, historically we have not made this distinction
when renting floors at City Hall.

Mr. Lieberman asked how frequently these floors were rented. Mr. Rose said that at
least three or four weekends of a month all of City Hall or at least, one floor is rented.
This figure does tend to change due to seasonal events. Further responding to Mr.
Lieberman, Mr. Rose responded that there is always maintenance personnel present
whenever City Hall is rented. It is rarely rented on a holiday.

Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.

CITIZEN COMMENTS:

Kim Hampton, 7534 Trenton, wanted to comment on the soap box derby that was held
on the 7th, which was spearheaded by Councilmember Cassandra Colquitt. She
wanted to thank U. City for their help. The event was a lot of fun and the kids really
enjoyed it. She gave pictures of the event to Ms. Colquitt.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL NO. 8431 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BY
REPEALING SECTION 10.44.010 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING
PROHIBITED QN CERTAIN STREETS AT ALL TIMES, AND ENACTING IN
LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.44.010

5
