Session 1766
October 4, 1999

cost $5,400.

This includes trading in a 1984 ambulance body on a 1990 chassis.

Mr. Schoomer moved approval of the low bid. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion.

Responding to Mr, Munkel, Mr. Ollendorff said that this new vehicle would be a larger one
than had been purchased in the past. It is basically a truck chassis. It is not a van or
pickup truck. It is a full sized Freightliner truck chassis. Responding further to Mr.
Munkel, Mr. Ollendorff responded that it was more in line with our Rescue truck than our
ambulances.

Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff said that the radio would go out to bid to
radio retail and installation companies, separately. The company building the ambulance
will not handle the radio. Responding further to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff said that
this vehicle had the communication technology to communicate with the hospitals and
submit vital stars on patients.

Responding to Mr. Sharpe, Mr. Ollendorff said that the company who they buy the radio
from will be the one to install the radio and train the staff, as well. Staff will receive
training from the ambulance builder also.

The motion carried unanimously.

AGENDA #4 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION:

Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of an application for $201,200 in Federal
Community Development Funds including the following year 2000 projects:

Northeast Area & Parkview Gardens Community
Police Service ............................ $30,180
Northeast & Parkview Gardens Environmental & Housing
Code Enforcement ........................ $45,000
Olive Street Commercial Code Enforcement .......... $ 5,000
Olive Street, Northeast & Parkview Gardens Trees ...... $40,000
Home Rehab Administration ...................... $ 1,500
Private Property Rehab ......................... $10,020
Northeast Area Sidewalk Replacement - Chamberlain . .. $69,500

This list of projects was revised following review of citizen comments at the public
hearing required to be conducted by City staff prior to preparation of this final
list.
