Session 1768, Minutes
October 2 I, 1999

disability plans for both retirement package systems, in order to achieve more equitable
benefits for both classes of employees.

AGENDA #12 - SETTING NEXT STUDY SESSION DATE (ROSE):

Mr. Rose suggested February 12, 2000, a Saturday morning, for the next study session.
Council agreed.

ADD AGENDA ITEM: - HORN HONKING:

Council discussed a situation where neighbors were complaining about a bus driver
honking her horn to inform a citizen of their arrival. The citizen has a disabled child that
rides the bus. The ordinance does not allow any horn honking, except as a danger
signal. The Council discussed whether exemptions should be made to the ordinance
for disabled persons. The sense of Council was to suggest to the bus company to have
the dispatcher call the citizen to inform them of the arrival of the bus at her home. No
changes to the ordinance will be instituted. The law will be enforced as written.

ADJOURNMENT:

Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 7:20 p.m.
~Lelsha K. Meine, City Clerk
