Mr. Hice noted that the graphic was preliminary.

Questions/Comments from Commission members and responses included:

- A question was asked about if it was the signage that was not permitted or the
banners. Mr. Greatens commented on allowable signage. Some signs shown
would not be permitted.
- Commission members were in agreement with plans and work as proposed
except for the proposed cross attachment and covering up of the original
masonic symbol.

Mr. Hice stated the graphic was preliminary and the latest drawings show that the
masonic symbol is not covered up.

Mr. Greatens asked the Commission members if the symbol could be specified in the
motion.

Mr. Wesenberg made a motion to accept the plans as submitted with the exception of
the banners and anything that would obscure the original masonic symbol. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Smith. The motion was approved unanimously.

3. Other business

a. Discussion Loop Trolley Project update

Mr. Tim Nittler with CH2M Hill gave a summary presentation with updated information
about the Loop Trolley. He stated that the design of the roundabout was similar to that
previously shown to the Commission, with the addition of granite curbing as
recommended. Additional parking was shown on the south side of Delmar Boulevard.
He stated that initially the Trolley had a stop in front of the Washington University Music
Building and the design was revised with a station stop on the south side of Delmar
Boulevard just west of Kingsland. He stated that the design changed again and a
station stop would now be directly in front of the University City Public Library.

Questions/Comments from Commission members and responses included:

- Is the new station location out of historic district? Mr. Greatens: Local historic
district begins at Kingsland Avenue so it is within the local historic district.

Mr. Nittler stated that, regarding lighting, the locations had not changed since last time
the Commission saw them. They were proposing to leave all pedestrian scale lighting
in place with the exception of the two large fixtures contained in the bollards. He stated
they were showing a proposed relocation of those lights to the north and south of
Delmar Boulevard with a note to coordinate with University City in the final location of
those lights.

Mr. Doug Campion with the Loop Trolley Company provided information about ticket
sales, ridership, and operational information

24
Page of
