<br /> <br />Mr. Smith stated that he had done some legal work for the applicant in an unrelated <br />area and was stating so in interest of full disclosure. <br /> <br />Ms. Ghasedi made a motion to recommend approval of the proposed renovations to the <br />multi-family residential building at 727 Limit Avenue. The motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Wesenberg. The motion was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Ghasedi made a motion to recommend approval of the proposed renovations to the <br />multi-family residential building at 751 Interdrive Street. The motion was seconded by <br />Mr. Wesenberg. The motion was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />6. Proposed Washington University redevelopment project near Delmar Blvd. / Eastgate <br />Ave. / Enright Ave. Design review for conformance with District Standards within the <br />Delmar Loop Parkview Gardens Historic District (National Register). <br /> <br />Mr. Greatens provided background information about the project. He stated that the <br />Historic Preservation Commission approved the demolition of existing buildings on the <br />site in July. He stated that the project had gone through Plan Commission review and <br />City Council review. <br /> <br />Ms. Schmidt stated that the Historic District in which the property is located was put on <br />the National Register for its layout and plan, not for a particular style or material, but <br />more for the urban planning and layout of the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Rose Windmiller, Cheryl Adelstein, and Brian Newman with Washington University were <br />in attendance. Peter Tao with Tao Lee Associates, one of the project architects, was <br />in attendance. Randy Wilmot with William Rawn Associates, one of the project <br />architects, was also in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilmot provided an overview of the project and explained the materials proposed <br />including brick types, glass types, and sun-shade system. <br /> <br />Commission members reviewed the applicable Zoning Code Section. <br /> <br />Questions/Comments from Commission members and responses included: <br /> <br />- Commission members stated they were in favor of changes made since they last <br />reviewed the project and liked the pedestrian mews. <br />- Commission members stated they were in favor of the cues taken from other <br />projects in the area to make the proposal work on the Delmar side and that the <br />project was compatible on the north side also and the scale was appropriate. <br /> <br />Mr. Tao stated that the project had two faces the commercial side on Delmar and the <br />Parkview Gardens side on Enright. <br /> <br />- The Commission members agreed that the Enright side had a good feel with the <br />proposed courtyards and that it would look better and be more compatible with <br />the neighborhood than what is there now. <br />34 <br />Page of <br /> <br /> <br />
