<br />- It was stated that the storefront line had been emphasized nicely on the Delmar <br />side. <br /> <br />Ms. Ghasedi made a motion to recommend approval of the project and that the project <br />was in compliance with the Design Standards. The motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Wesenberg. The motion was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />7.a. Other business proposal to relocate portraits of former City Managers. <br /> <br />Mr. Greatens stated that it was brought to the attention of staff that there might be <br />concern about moving the portraits of City Managers and how it relates to the design <br />standards within the University City Civic Complex Historic District. He stated that staff <br />has no objections to the portraits being located on either the first floor or the fifth floor. <br /> <br />Commission members reviewed and discussed the standards from the Code. <br /> <br />Frank Ollendorf, University City resident at 8128 Cornell, was in attendance and <br />commented on the location of the portraits. <br /> <br />Questions/Comments from Commission members: <br /> <br />- Commission members stated concern about their purview as it related to this <br />matter. <br />- It was stated that hanging of a portrait was not a change relative to architectural <br />features and that it would be different if an architectural feature were to be <br />altered. <br />- Commission members discussed the Code lang <br />and that it was located in the sentence regarding exterior alterations. <br />- Commission members stated that this has been brought to their attention by staff <br />rather than submittal of a formal application. It was agreed that this item was not <br />a formal application or proposal and that a formal application was needed in <br />order for a recommendation to be made by the Commission. <br />- Commission members agreed there was concern about whether or not this item <br />should be under their purview. <br /> <br />Ms. Schmidt stated that no action was required because there was no formal proposal. <br /> <br />7.b. Update 2012 Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference <br /> <br />Mr. Greatens distributed the conference brochures and summarized the location and <br />times of conference events including evening receptions and the awards luncheon. <br /> <br />Ms. Schmidt and Ms. Sue Rehkopf, with the University City Historical Society, shared <br />information about award nominations they had prepared. <br /> <br />Ms. Schmidt stated that the awards are to be named after Esley Hamilton. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br />44 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
